No Walking Zombie Looking Mom Here: There is a New Facebook Group in Town
Southern California Style for Moms
Moms across the county can see California style on their favorite reality shows. This group will help showcase the SoCal style to woman across the county to make us all trendy, especially now that are bodies and activities have changed since childbirth (daisy duke shorts don’t look the same, stiletto boots are too dangerous to wear while holding a baby, and tired looking skin starts to emerge from the lack of sleep). Moms are helping each other look our best, while being casual chic (sorry men, this is just for mamas)!
When women sit down with other mothers/friends for coffee, some (like me) instantly start talking about how we don’t know how to style flare jeans. Oh, how we wish skinny jeans were still in. This is the vibe that continues into the group. SoCal moms go to IG looking up pictures to share styling ideas at coffee time. This is what now gets shared with this group. It is not a place for a small company to tag all their items to sell… It’s about helping other moms stay stylish with the California vibe while not trying to make a buck of their own.
Same goes for skincare products. We mention how dull our skin looks or has anyone tried filler under the eye. It’s appreciated to mention who ones dermatologist is and feedback on the product. It is not the place to advertise an esthetician license or teeth whitening product. Its for real moms that don’t want to look haggard or like a walking zombie with only 2 hours asleep.
Here is a secret behind the group… the admin works on television and so do many of the group members. There are actual links to the clothes they buy (from Bloomingdales to Amazon), teeth whitener products for the celebrity pearly whites, and dermatologist recommended products for their camera close up skin. Juggling being a mom and the fashionista identity is hard with a kid in tow. Southern California Style for Moms is here to the rescue!
Addendum:
An IG post was made introducing the Facebook Group on behalf of Sabrina Fein. The group is mostly men and resulted in 1 man requesting to join the group The post used the first comment section to post hashtags such as, #momstyle, #momjeans, #momblogger, #style, #socal, #fashionformoms, #socalstyle, #facebookgroup. Three stories in IG utilized #momstyle, #momlife, #style. Together they garnered 23 profile visits and 0 member requests.
Facebook posts (image 1 and 2 at the top of the article) were made 2 consecutive days, but fell flat yet again due to the 89% male following.
Influencers Brandi Williams and Neda Iranpour (who work in TV and are moms) were asked to post a video explaining and inviting others to the group in their IG stories.
